The Canadian Greenhouse Conference is held in Hall 5 of the International Centre, 6900 Airport Rd., Mississauga (Toronto) Ontario Canada. The International Centre is 4 km. west of Toronto's Lester B. Pearson International Airport.

Our Conference is Canada's Marketplace for Grower Technology.

The annual Canadian Greenhouse Conference (CGC) began in 1979 with the purpose of:
• Organizing a speaker program for greenhouse growers on the latest in practical crop production. Speakers are brought from all over the world to talk about the latest in research and technology. Also growers take part in the program sharing their own experiences.
• Giving growers and greenhouse suppliers a forum to network through our tradeshow.
• Providing a high quality, competitively priced conference that gives good value to conference attendees and exhibitors.
• Fund research and extension education within Canada, through the Cecil Delworth Foundation to improve the Canadian greenhouse industry. To date, the CGC has donated over $668,000.

The CGC was started by a visionary group, consisting of:
• Allied Trades (our exhibitors),
• Flowers Canada (National), now represented by Flowers Canada Growers,
• Ontario Greenhouse Vegetable Growers,
• Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs ,
• University of Guelph, Plant Agriculture,
• Bedding Plants International (Canadian) - No Longer Active.

Since 1979 CGC has grown to 200 exhibitors and attracts over 2500 attendees.

The CGC was held at the University of Guelph from 1979-2000. Then, beginning in 2001, the CGC moved to the International Centre, 6900 Airport Rd., near Toronto's Lester B. Pearson International Airport. The conference is traditionally held on the Wednesday and Thursday of the week prior to the Canadian Thanksgiving in October.

A typical conference consists of:
• 2 days of speaker sessions for greenhouse flower and vegetable growers
• 80,000 sq. ft. Trade Show with over 200 exhibitors
• "New Varieties" and "New Products" displays showing the latest introductions to the Canadian marketplace
• 2 separate pre-conference bus tours, on Tuesday:
  • one tour to greenhouse flower operations
  • one tour to greenhouse vegetable operations
• A reception Wednesday at 5:30 pm, in the trade show. It includes several door prizes
• Entertainment both days, complimentary coffee each morning, surprise treats each afternoon
• More door prizes for attendees on Thursday afternoon
