Aubergine Import and Design is a business offering unusual products from around the world. One of our most popular products has been clothing made in the Himalayas. These products have a wide range of amazing colours and are fun designs that appeal to all ages and interests. Hoodies, t-shirts, jackets, pants, handbags, scarves and an exciting line of children's clothing are all handcrafted with quality craftsmanship and natural fabrics. We make every attempt to buy from individuals and groups that support women and families and support fairly traded goods with crafts people receiving fair payment for their work. Check out our "rip patch hoodie". Sizing is often variable and not equal to North American standards so look for our measurements for the best fit. Silks from Asia are another favourite of our customers. An assortment of clothing and accessories from India, Israel,Argentina, The Czech Republic, Australia and Canada are often available. We are always on the lookout for some new and amazing products such as those through Women for Women in supporting women entrepreneurs in developing and war torn areas.
Some special projects that we have supported include joining a consortium of women supporting a young African woman, orphaned as a child and raised by other family members, to achieve a post secondary education, providing day care children in Argentina with locally sewn book bags in support of a local literacy goal, and supporting entrepreneurs through Kiva.
While we do not currently have a store front, we take part in festivals and conventions and online for sale of our products. Keep posted for a list of upcoming venues.
